Welcome to the Scottish Huntington's Association
Youth Service website for children and young people
You are probably visiting our website because you are young person
living in family with Huntington's disease (HD for short). You
may have always known about HD in your family, or you may have
found out
recently. Whatever your family situation we hope the information
on our site will be of help to you and we welcome any comments
or suggestions
you may have about it.
The project has two Young People's Advisors
- Karen Keenan (North/East Scotland) and Catherine Martin (South/West
Scotland). Their main
role is to provide information, support and advice on an individual
and
group basis for children and young people living in family
with HD.
There are young people from all over Scotland who use the
Youth Service and many of you are keen to meet others in the same
situation. You
can do this by getting involved with our group activities
(see noticeboard) and/or through the chatroom, discussion board
or our new BEBO page
(see www.bebo.com/SHAyouth ). Through these you can meet
and talk with other young people living in a family with HD. You
should
also check
out the Noticeboard for more information about any forthcoming
events.
